In 1974 the Communist Party purchased the mill which was kept in operation unlike many other mills, as the Communist Party did not tolerate smaller entrepreneurships. Lidmilův mlýn, however, was a very large and modern mill for its time for it had two water turbines: one for the lumber mill and one for the flourmill. In 1985 the mill was shut down for the radical renovations and transformed into a private hotel for party leaders and their relatives.
